Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting noting the above apologies.
The position of Chairperson was offered to the meeting. Chris Craven proposed that Frank Farmer be re-elected and Malcolm Horne seconded it. Frank agreed to continue as Chairman.
MINUTES, Clerk outlined the minutes from the previous meeting in June which were proposed by Pauline Ward and seconded by Rod Beal.
FINANCES, Clerk gave the financial position which is currently at £1,566.89 This includes the annual garden rent £27, grounds maintenance funds of £143.55 from HBC and the payment of the parish precept of £300.00.
GUN CLUB, Gary and Audra Lancaster have left the village. It was agreed that the gun club is quieter now. Chairman suggested we monitor the situation.
S & R MOTORS, There is a sold sign up however it is believed the sale has fallen through and it could be back on the market again.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH, Roger has expressed concern to the police that he is not hearing about all incidents. Clerk agreed to ask her police contact to add Roger to his mailings and to remove Malcolm.
PLANNING APPLICATIONS,
- Summer House Hill, Mr Jackson was not at the meeting. It is understood that he wishes to present to all 3 parishes, Ferrensby/Farnham and Staveley once the plans are ready. The plot is in the parish of Farnham but Ferrensby will be most affected. Malcolm Horne wanted everyone to attend the presentation and not just the sub-committee.
- Highfield Farm – 2 people are on the electoral role giving address as the caravan at Highfield Farm. This was refused permission when applied for. Clerk to investigate with planning dept.
- BT Kiosk – clerk put it to the meeting that BT are looking to remove many phones and kiosks in the area due to low usage. There is potentially the opportunity to investigate the option of adopting the kiosk and installing a defibrillator. The general feeling was to go ahead. Fund raising will be required to enable the village purchase any equipment.
- A number of sites in the village are being looked at for development of housing. No planning applications have been received and the chairman suggested we wait for further information.
WEBSITE, chairman encouraged everyone to visit the new website www.ferrensby.com which Jonathan has set up. Any requests for information to be put onto the website should be directed to the clerk at kathrynhaw@btinternet.com
DRAINS – Mr Wickens from HBC attended a site visit to understand the flooding issues. Ditches either side of the Borobridge Road have been cleared and NYCC to clear the culvert under the road.
Pauline Ward said Yorkshire Water attended blocked drains on Farnham Lane 4 times in 4 weeks. Recurring problem is with wipes/nappies and fat. Yorkshire Water to power flush twice a year. Environmental Health can be contacted to help with advising residents not to offending items down drains
BOUNDARY CHANGES, Ferrensby will be affected by the new boundary changes moving out of Harrogate & Knaresborough and into Selby & Ainsty. Clerk encouraged everyone to put their views to the Boundary Commission website.
Clerk had received a request for meeting times to be at 7.30pm. This was put to the meeting and a unanimous vote was to keep it at 6pm.
