Another scanned historic article, slightly retouched for readability and transcribed by Google Bard’s AI (so there will likely be errors). These were supplied by Ferrensby resident John Ross, I am not sure what newspaper they appeared in, but show an interesting glimpse into how the village looked in the past.

This week’s Picture From the Past is a flashback to village life at the turn of the century.

Mr. John Houseman, of Ilkley, has lent us these photographs of Ferrensby and Arkendale, which he believes were taken in about 1910.

And although 80 years may have passed, there are still some similar sights – Ferrensby duck pond and Arkendale church.
