Neighbourhood Watch

You are here: Home / Local Amenities and Facilities / Neighbourhood Watch

Crime prevention and liaison with the Police

Please feel welcome to join the Ferrensby Neighbourhood Watch scheme to receive prompt and accurate alerts by e-mail.

Send an e-mail to our local coordinator Roger Kendall (rogerkendall13@gmail.com) and request your email address be added to the distribution list to receive, from the police, information, alerts and helpful hints on safeguarding your property.

At a time when crime and vandalism are much in the news this is a good opportunity to have that added sense of protection. This is a friendly freestanding community service that exists solely to further the work of the police in protecting your property. It relies on your involvement, so please do consider joining.

Please be assured that, as required by the Data Protection Act, personal information including email addresses will not be used for purposes other than maintaining a distribution list for the Neighbourhood Watch scheme and will not be passed to any other organisations.

Contact the coordinator by email if, at any time, you wish to be removed from the distribution list.

Some information regarding Doorstep Sellers

In order to sell, the vendor has to have a Pedlars Certificate. The certificate has to have been issued by a Police force. It can only be issued to the vendor by the force area where they live and can only sell in that area. If any vendor shows a certificate which had not been issued by North Yorkshire Police they cannot sell in our area, please contact NYP with as much detail as possible if they come calling to your door.
